Two Degrees
One Global Trajectory
Building upon a long-standing academic tradition since its establishment in 1985, Universitas Indonesia’s postgraduate program in International Relations stands as one of the most respected and competitive graduate programs in Indonesia. The curriculum is designed to provide advanced, multidimensional, and multi-level analyses of global affairs, with particular emphasis on International Security, International Political Economy, and Transnational issues. This comprehensive and research-oriented approach is further enriched by diverse global perspectives, enabling postgraduate students to critically engage with the plurality, complexity, and evolving dynamics of contemporary International Relations.
The MA International Relations at the University of Leeds, offered by the School of Politics and International Studies (POLIS), is a rigorous postgraduate programme designed to provide students with advanced understanding of global politics through critical engagement with international relations theory, interdisciplinary perspectives, and key contemporary debates. The programme examines international issues from both historical and contemporary viewpoints, moving beyond state-centric analysis to explore the roles of global actors, power relations, security, political economy, and global governance. Through a combination of core modules, optional courses, and an independently researched dissertation under close academic supervision, students develop strong analytical, research, and writing skills, preparing them for professional careers in diplomacy, international organisations, policy research, NGOs, or for further doctoral study.
“Upon completion, students are awarded two internationally recognised Master’s degrees one from Universitas Indonesia and one from the University of Leeds preparing graduates to excel in diplomatic, policy, research, and academic careers, as well as to contribute meaningfully to global and regional discourses in both scholarly and practical settings.”
