The Global Politics of Digital Technologies and the Governance of Cyberspace Call for AbstractThe International Postgraduate Students Conference (IPGSC) is a bi-annual event organized by the Postgraduate Study Program, Department of International Relations, Universitas Indonesia. Since 2018, IPGSC has focused on the mission of connecting postgraduate students from all over the world to provide the most outstanding scientific work ideas and publish them. IPGSC welcomes a variety of postgraduate students to participate in meaningful conversations about contemporary issues. IPGSC offers an opportunity for postgraduate students to think about the future of international relations.


The advancement of digital technologies and cyberspace governance continues to reshape global politics, security dynamics, and economic frameworks. This conference invites postgraduate students, scholars, and practitioners to critically examine the intersection of digital technologies, cybersecurity, and international governance. Key themes include cyber diplomacy, digital sovereignty, AI regulation, international law, and the evolving landscape of cyber deterrence.

What is the theme of IPGSC 2025?
The IPGSC theme for this year is
“Bytes and Borders: The Global Politics of Digital Technologies and the Governance of Cyberspace”
Who can participate in IPGSC 2025?
This year IPGSC invites postgraduate students, scholars, and practitioners to participate in the conference.
What are the sessions of the conference?
- Plenary sessions: inviting leading scholars and practitioners in this field to discuss the intersection of digital technologies, cybersecurity, and international governance.
- Panel Sessions: These sessions allow the participants to present their research and engage in discussions to enhance their papers. In each panel, there will be a facilitator who will assist the discussions and provide feedback for the participants.
- Networking Session: During the networking session, the participants can interact with each other, speakers, and facilitators. Allowing them to broaden their professional networks and exchange information or knowledge.
What will be the outcome of the IPGSC 2025?
Selected papers will be published in a conference proceedings book published by a reputable publisher or Global: Jurnal Politik Internasional.

What if a participant submitted two abstract/papers?
We only count the payment for the papers. We need to receive payment for each paper.

Please send an email to the IPGSC Secretariat about your conditions and the committee will review whether you are eligible for the waiver.
Submissions
When is the deadline for the full paper?
The deadline for the full paper submission is 12 September 2025.
Can I submit a full paper that will be or has been presented at the other conferences?
We highly recommend the participants to submit an original paper that has not been submitted to other conferences. Selected papers may be published in a conference proceedings book or Global: Jurnal Politik Internasional
How can I submit my full paper?

How can I check the status of my submissions?
Selected abstracts will be contacted by the committee through e-mail. We will send a Letter of Acceptance gradually from Mid-August 2025. For the full paper submissions, we will notify the participants once we have received it.
When should I submit the revised abstract?
Revisions of abstract after receiving our feedback is highly encouraged. The revised abstract can be submitted before the submission of the full paper for our records. However, participants can also submit the revised abstract alongside with the full paper submission.
Can I change the title or abstract after my initial submission?
Please contact us if you need to change your title as we may need to assess the feasibility of changing the title. We highly advise you not to change the general content of your paper. The full paper should have the same general content as the one you submitted for the abstract submission.
What is the formatting guideline for the full paper submission?
Please refer to the following format:
Abstract
(Approximately 200–300 words)
- Concise summary of the study, including research objectives, methodology, key findings, and implications.
- Must also include: Author Detail
Full Name & Institution, Affiliations (e.g., University of Indonesia), Corresponding Author’s Contact Information - Keywords (5–7 relevant terms)
Full Paper
The paper should include the following: introduction, literature review, theoretical framework, methodology, findings and discussions, and conclusion.
General Format
- Word Count: 5,000–6,000 words
- Title: Bold, Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing, indent center
- Heading/Sub-heading: Bold, Times New Roman, size 12, 1.5 spacing, justify
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
- Line Spacing: 1.5 spacing
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12
- Paragraph Indentation: First line indent of 0.5 inches
- Body text alignment: Left-aligned or justified
- Table & Figures: Properly labelled and placed close to relevant text
Referencing & Bibliography Style
- Citation Style: APA (7th Edition) requirements)
- Bibliography Format: Alphabetically arranged references with full citation details
- In-text Citations: Author name, year format (e.g., Kosandi, 2013)
- DOI & URL Inclusion: Required for online sources
